Patricia Kelly is Co-Founder, CEO and Chairman of Limerick, Inc. Patricia recieved a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from California State University, Los Angeles, received her Certification as a Lactation Consultant (CLC) from UCLA, and the Management Development for Entrepreneurs (MDE) from UCLA. Patricia spear-headed the design and manufacturing of PJ's Comfort®, Limerick's revolutionary hospital-grade breast pump featuring the only patented technology for maximum comfort, truly mimicking a baby's natural nursing pattern. Patricia credits the superior design to her daughter Joan Ortiz's contact with the mothers in their Workplace Lactation Program and constant feedback from moms in surveys and focus groups. Patricia has received numerous awards for her professional work, including Business Life Magazine's Women Achievers and Special Congressional Recognition for Women in Science & Technology. She is also active in her community, having served on the board of philanthropic organizations such as the Burbank Noon Rotary Club and the Kids' Community Dental Clinic. She launched a business partnership with Villa Esperanza, a non-profit organization for the developmentally disabled, which continues today.
Patricia has 2 daughters, Joan Ortiz & Karen Olowiany (see Villa Esperanza) and 2 granddaughters, Kristina & Ashley Ortiz, both of whom have joined Limerick, Inc. Joan Ortiz is Co-Founder of Limerick, Inc. and President of the Limerick Workplace Lactation Program®. Joan received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mount Saint Mary's College in Los Angeles, California, received her Certification as a Lactation Consultant (CLC) from UCLA, and Management Development for Entrepreneurs (MDE) from UCLA. Joan is additionally qualified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She is responsible for one of the most comprehensive breastfeeding support models available and that has been proven effective in Limerick’s Research Study, published in the Journal of Pediatric Nursing in 2004. Joan believes strongly in providing scientific information and viable options to families, allowing them to make informed decisions about breastfeeding, and in supporting those decisions. Joan is also responsible for training and overseeing Limerick’s Lactation Consultants and Registered Nurses. Limerick’s Workplace Lactation Program has won the Working Women Entrepreneurial Excellence Award for Customer/Client Service, and Joan has been the recipient of awards including Burbank’s Women of the Year, Business Life Magazine’s Women Achievers, and Special Congressional Recognition for Women in Science & Technology. She has been active in Rotary International, Boys and Girls’ Club of Burbank, National Charity League, and served on the Board of Leadership Burbank. Joan has a unique relationship, working with both her mother, Patricia Kelly, and her two daughters, Kristina & Ashley Ortiz. Her passion is evident when she says, “It’s so rewarding to empower moms to feel good about their decisions, and to help them find success by balancing family and work…and I myself am thankful to be able to work with people I love.”
Aggie McGowan, RN, BSN, CLE, is a Lactation Consultant for Limerick’s Workplace Lactation Program. A mother of 6, there is likely nothing about breastfeeding or child-rearing that Aggie hasn’t heard or experienced. Her soothing manner and seasoned knowledge bring comfort, assurance, and practical solutions to many moms in the demanding workplace environment.
Stacie Ouellette, RN, BSN, CLE is a Lactation Consultant for Limerick’s Workplace Lactation Program. She is also an RNC-Labor & Delivery at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, so she clearly understands the demands of breastfeeding while on the job. A mother of 3, she recalls having to hand pump in a closet earlier in her career, and is determined to help moms ease the stress of nursing in the workplace.
Kristina Ortiz is Limerick’s Customer Service Manager. A college student, Kristina is majoring in Business and has her sights set on a long career with Limerick, Inc. She plans to absorb knowledge in all facets of the family business, but Kristina is very aware of the importance of her current role, saying “Limerick’s business was built on satisfied customers--they are Limerick’s top priority. It’s very rewarding to be able to provide families with quality support and listen to their feedback at the same time.”
Ashley Ortiz is Limerick’s Customer Service Manager, Workplace Lactation Program/Insurance. Also a college student, Ashley is studying Health Administration and Psychology. Her education should come in handy as she fields calls from working moms and employers, and helps customers navigate the often complex health insurance process. She understands that insurance fulfillment is a developing process and can be very frustrating. “I will always do my best to help our customers, although what is policy today for some insurers can change tomorrow,” she says. “My job is to help moms understand their workplace lactation services, their insurance benefits, and to help them get the Limerick PJ’s pump they want!”
Stefanee Sasaki is also one of Limerick's knowledgeable Customer Service Representatives. Stefanee graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in Human Physiology. She holds a strong passion for helping others and is applying her education helping Limerick's breastfeeding moms on a daily basis. We are proud that Stefanee's goals include becoming a lactation consultant!
Alfredo Rodriguez is Limerick’s Quality Assurance/Production Manager. Alfredo ensures that Limerick’s products are made according to the highest standards of quality and safety. He is a terrific team-builder, motivating and managing Limerick’s assembly crew and Villa Esperanza team. He says “I am a perfectionist when it comes to the quality of our product because I feel I’m making a difference for our country’s future generations.” The son of a full-time working mom himself, Alfredo appreciates the importance of providing good nutrition to children despite the challenges of a busy lifestyle.
